OWL Sakai Migration Projects
About Migration Projects
Since the OWL Migration Plan began in 2022, this significant project has progressed in phases. In Fall 2024, the OWL Migration Plan successfully completed the Academic Course Migration phase and moved into separate projects to continue the transition from OWL Sakai.
The five main transition projects are:
- Academic Course Migration (Completed)
- Western Continuing Studies Course Migration (Completed)

Migration of Training Sites Managed by Human Resources (Training managed by Western Human Resources will no longer be available in OWL Sakai starting Friday, March 20, 2026. Employees will be able to access training in OWL Brightspace beginning Monday, March 23, 2026).
