About Migration Projects
The OWL Migration Plan was conceptualized to run in phases since its inception in 2022. As of Fall 2024, our future phases are running as separate projects following our successful completion of the Academic Course Migration phase. Our 4 main migration projects are Sakai Project Site Migration (to OWL Brightspace or another solution), Training Site Migrations, Western Continuing Studies Migration, and the Academic Course Migration (completed).
Upcoming Project Dates
January 2025
Planning begins for Sakai Project Site Migration (to OWL Brightspace or an alternate solution) which will include training sites (non-HR).
Spring 2025 (targeted)
Target to begin planning HR Training Site Migrations.
Fall 2025 (targeted)
Target completion for Western Continuing Studies Migration.
April 30, 2026
Sakai project sites migrated to OWL Brightspace or transitioned to alternate solutions. Access to Sakai will be removed.
